Genesis chapter one established the fact that God created the heavens and the earth, including all that lives in it, man inclusive. Why did God create man?
Out of many answers; to give Him praise, to show forth His glory, to live for Him, etc.
Let us go back to Genesis 2, in the beginning, what God really require from man is not service, not even praises of Him, but FELLOWSHIP with Him. Inherent in fellowship are praises to God and service. You can’t have a fellowship with God and not give him praise and show forth His glory…but you can sing His praise and not have fellowship with Him and you can be involved in service, while your heart if far away from Him. Many are in this category. May you not be and if you are, run to God NOW!
Ps 119:11 says, Your Word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against you. The fall of man broke God’s heart and that is why He did all He could to bring man back to Him.
God activated this In Genesis 3, God had to find a way of reconciliation from that Genesis, to the New testament when Jesus came, and Jesus had to accomplish that work by dying on the cross.
Do you remember that in Genesis 3, God had to kill a lamb to use the skin to cover man’s nakedness. This emphasize what is said in Romans 9:22b …without shedding of blood is no remission. Jesus had to die so His death can coverour sin that brings reproach before God. So if anyone has not surrender to Jesus, he/she is naked before God. Get cover by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus into your life.
Even till today, God is still guiding us, and till the world comes to an end, because He doesn’t want the death of a sinner, but that all may come unto repentance. And He also doesn’t want to loose any of His children, not again. God will never forfeit again, man’s relationship with Him, because that’s our whole essence. He gave us Holy Spirit so He can guide us into all truth. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak. John 16:13
God is looking out for Christians, who will go on a retreat, not to seek His face for solution to a problem in their lives, but just to know more of Him.
God is not looking for service, He is looking for fellowship. When the Bible says in John 4:24 that God is looking for those who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth, He is saying that those who will spend time with ME to know me, you can’t spend such time with someone you don’t love, nor with someone you don’t respect. That is the true definition of WORSHIP. Worship is not engaging in slow songs to praise God, but engaging in solitude to KNOW GOD.
The choir in church lead us to worship, it means, they lead us to have FELLOWSHIP with God. Worship is not singing, it is an ATTITUDE. He is not looking for the nice people, He is looking for the committed people. Committed to His relationship with them. People who will wake up in the middle of the night, and say Father, let’s talk, as we were saying yesterday before I slept… God will never keep any secret from you if you walk in that terrain. Ask Abraham. Genesis 18:16-17
And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do, [Gal. 3:8.]. God is not looking for those who come to church just to seek his face, He is seeking for the committed people, who will
He is looking for those who will worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24. That is seek relationship/fellowship/communion with Him.
As a king, your fellowship with God determines your altitude and the level of exploit you do. Jesus did exploit because He did all that the Father ask Him to do, when you follow Jesus’ step, you will do greater works. Jesus emphasized this in John 14:12 Truly, truly, I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.
How can you have a time of solitude? And What are you expected to do during this period?
Joshua 1:8 gave the answer; This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
True success comes while having and sustaining a relationship with God through His Word and obedience to His ordinances. The guide in it will make success to chase you hurriedly.
Confession: I receive grace to have solitude with you, just to be alone with you and enjoy the blessing of been in Your presence alone.
