Life of a child of God is a life that presents uncertainty in a positive light. It will be a lie to say it is easy, it is not easy, and even God did not promise that it will be easy, but what we experience when its not easy is the hallmark. He promised in Isaiah 43:2 that When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
What can make you believe this even while in the fiery furnace if not FAITH, the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. Hebrews 11:1TLBV
Almost every Christian knows this passage, we know how important it is to our growth as children of God, God will never take faith for granted in our relationship with Him and in the fulfilment of our purpose, because without faith it is impossible to please God,… as you come to Him, you must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6-7
From the above, there is a starting point, a point of believe that God IS, that He exist. If you don’t have faith, you can’t believe that God exist. Because, though we did not see Him, we know He exists. I Peter 1:8 captures it this way; Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.
The power God is incomparable and not dependent on anything to exist, a force as powerful to show His supremacy by locking down the entire earth is to be feared and reverenced. Covid-19 did not just come with a sword, it also came with wisdom, to understand the existence of God the supreme being, who sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us and deliver us from death.
Apostle Paul made this clear in Colossians 1:16: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him
No one begs for loyalty of what he/she has created, you simply control it. A cloth cannot tell the designer, I want to be sown as a shirt, while you are making a dress, so can the clay not say to the potter, I want to be this or that…
If God is persuading you to give your life to Him or do His will, it is out of His great love and mercy. He can simply compel you, just like the porter compels the clay. Another appeal from God is here again, Please give your life to Jesus today. It is as simple as just confessing your sin to Jesus now and ask Him to come to your life. That’s it!
One of the main point here is that, our journey to fulfilment starts with our believe in God, our believe in God starts with faith and so is our obedience to Him.
This year is a fantastic and peculiar year, and you can’t simply make a headway through it without FAITH.
The faith needed to believe in the existence of God is not the same as the one needed to obey Him. You definitely need a higher faith. This can be through what we hear…that is why as new Christians we attend Bible study, School of Disciple, etc. Romans 10:17 says it clearly that Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
The Word of God brings development in our spiritual technology of Faith through the following;
- Through listening to His beloved; listening to the preacher during evangelism, fellowship in the House of God, bible study, retreats, conferences, etc. We were all saved by the Word of the gospel we heard.
- Through the Word of God (Bible); personal study (quiet time), the Holy Spirit nudging your spirit.
- Through the Holy Spirit; personal encounter and in a gathering…
These are the pump for spiritual technology development of FAITH to live a better life in 2021, and be who God wants us to be.
Prayer: Father! Build my faith in You.
Confession: I receive an unfeigned faith. I walk in strong faith that can move mountains. Like You did for Abraham and Timothy, in 2 Timothy 1:5; I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am convinced is in you as well. My generation shall walk in faith. None shall serve no other God but You. We live in faith that can transform the world and bring them on their knees for You Lord.
