There are close to 8Billions people in the world, no one has the same voice as the other, at times there are similarities, but never the same. This means there are as many voices in the world as there are people.
Voices are conveyed in form of ideas, suggestions, counsels, books, movies/drama etc. You attract the voice you choose to attract. The choice is yours to make, no one can make the choice for you, but you can only be influenced. In essence, you choose which book to read, movie to watch, counsels to listen to, ideas to imbibe or scrutinize etc.
Ruth 2: 20 and Ruth 3:16-18 gave an account of a woman who decided to be in the company of her mother-in law despite she is a widow and uncertainty stared her on the face. We will discuss more about Ruth in the course of this article.
There are two arms that control all the voices in the world – THE LIGHT whose name is JESUS, He is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE and the other is the devil who came to kill, to steal and to destroy, John 10:10. And the one you choose to direct you is the voice you will attract, either light or darkness.
Fulfilment is not achieved just by mere wishing nor imagination, but by paying close attention to instructions given from the voice you choose to listen to. THE LIGHT, who will shine unto your path to give you success is the best and only choice to fulfilment.
I have read and also heard about people who trusted God and they waited upon Him as He brought about the fulfilment of their purpose. When we hear the story of Ruth, Esther, Joseph, David…we are always full of joy and hope that the same God who did it for them will do a new thing in our lives too. But we rarely pay attention to their challenges and instructions they have to follow before their fulfilment came, especially when we are faced with similar challenges, we give up so easily as if we have never heard that there is nothing that is happening to us that has never happened to someone else before.
Whether we succeed or not is the effect of the voices we listen to; Ruth listened to God through Naomi, and she got a testimony that placed her among the great, great… grandmother of our Lord Jesus Christ. We need to be accountable to God first, and then to people around us that God has set to be a speaker with which His voice is amplified.
LIKES ATTRACT LIKES – Whenever you are new in a place, let them know who you are and what you stand for. If you truly stand for Christ, show it in deeds and words. Some of us, we hide our identity as a Christian because we don’t want to be labelled as; fanatics, pastor, SU… well, it is better to stand for Christ than to sit with the devil.
The sole voice that you should be listening to everyday of your life should be the voice of the Holy spirit. The Holy Spirit does not speak of Himself, He speaks of the Father…John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” Even the other people that you should listen to, their words should be in accordance with the words of the Holy Spirit.
The HEART – The heart is desperately wicked, no one can know it all, Jeremiah 17:9. Be careful what you feed your heart with. Pollution and righteousness come from the heart. Whatever you feed the heart with is seen by the acts you display. From the movie you watch, music you listen to, messages you listen to, programmes you attend, books/articles you read, magazines/bulletin that caught your attention… are all what comprises of what you feed your heart with.
Let the Holy Spirit be your drive with which you store and receive your data, let Him be your software with which you run your daily live, and let Him be your application with which you launch your ideas. It doesn’t matter how long you have been in the journey; it is the result that matters. The end is as important as the beginning. Heaven is not for sinners, so is hell not meant for the righteous. Choose who to follow; LIGHT or DARKNESS. I follow what Joshua said in Johua 24:15, “…as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
If you need God’s direction, you need to heed to Him. If you want to experience God’s direction, you need to stay close to Him. At times, God’s instructions might not make sense to you, but He surely makes sense to the situation and circumstances you are facing. If you are not in the same boat with the one who can calm the storm, when the storm comes, you are left with two other choices, its either you calm yourself, or you swim. I don’t know how many things I have to imbibe to have a beautiful life, but I know one thing for sure, that there is one option I can pick that gives me access to everything I need to make my life very beautiful, attractive and fulfilling. That option is JESUS CHRIST.
The difference between those who are on the right path and those who are on the wrong is the value of the company they keep.
In school, at home, at work, in church, everywhere, surround yourself with people who are amplifying the VOICE OF GOD, and not those who will help you to depart from LIGHT and push you into darkness.
The conclusion of the matter is then that, whether you will have victory or not is dependent on the voice you pay obeisance to. As for me, I WILL SERVE THE LORD. What about you?
I pray that God will help you to discern and identify the voices those around you are amplifying. And he will give you grace to STAND FOR HIM. AMEN.
