God Speaks

God Speaks

In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was GOD. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and darkness cannot comprehend it. John 1:1-3

The above passage is a huge pointer to us that He who is the WORD cannot be short of WORDS, because that is who HE is. God speaks because He is the Word spoken. No one can stop living and breathing except dead, because that is what makes man a living being. God is THE WORD and he can’t stop speaking, that is what makes Him a living God. Other gods don’t speak, the oracles say what the people want to hear, But God almighty is the only true and living GOD.

Why do people confuse this aspect of God?

John 4:24 makes it clear that, God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. This implies that God speaks to our Spirit-man. And He speaks in accordance to His Word (The Bible), it means, it is important to check the source of the words coming to you. We will dwell more on this in the later part.

The bible also says we should test all spirits. 1 John 4:1 – Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

It’s not until someone says, I come from the devil, just check if it aligns with the Word of God, if not, it is definitely from the devil, or if it interprets the Word of God wrongly, it is of the devil.

For example, because you are facing challenges in your marriage, you are praying for your spouse to die in order to be free and settle down with someone else. The guilt will hunt you forever. You can’t fight alone and win, only Him has never lost any battle. Call on God who can calm every storm. And He will attend to your case. In Mark 4:35-41, the disciples were battling with the storm despite Jesus was in the boat, they thought they are professional fisher-men, they can handle the storm, and so were showing macho with the storm, until they saw that the boat will sink and they will all die if they didn’t call on Jesus, who was sleeping in the boat. When they did, he calm the storm at once. Jesus can calm the storm in your home, only if you call on Him. He can be in the boat of your marriage and be quiet or sleeping and silent despite the storm. But when you call, He will be ready to stop the storm in your marriage.

Another thing worthy to be noted is something common in the Christian fold we need to be careful of; Whenever someone says he/she hears from God, if it is favourable to the hearer, there will be positive or affirmative reaction, if not, there will be doubt and questioning of whether such hears from God or not. 1 Kings 13:11-25 is the story of the old and young prophet. There are many old prophets today who wants the young prophet to fall, all because God has left them.

My cryout is to you, ‘’young prophet’’, stay with what God has told you, and if you are challenged like the old prophet challenged the young prophet, do not sink it in, GO BACK TO GOD before you react or take the final decision. He who is down does not fear the floor, let him that thinketh he standeth take heed, lest he falls. 1 Corinthians 10:12
