A statement was alleged to Abraham Lincoln, the American 16th President, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we lose our freedoms it will be because we have destroyed ourselves from within.” He believed that America is a freedom nation and the freedom cannot be taken away by a stranger except the Americans themselves.
Lincoln’s ideology is similar to what Jesus said in Matthew 12:25; …“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand”
Everyone who has given his or her life to Christ has become one with Him (Christ) and because God and Christ are one, it follows that you have also become one with God, John 10:30. This follows that every child of God that does not follow God’s instructions and perfect will for their lives is against him/herself and such a person cannot last, nor can his/her plans succeed.
God said to Rebecca in Genesis 25:23 that, there are two nations in her womb (twin) and the older will serve the younger, and because it was Esau that came out first, her keen interest was in Jacob, the younger. Nurturing and teaching him what he needs to know to be great. He had heard so much from his mother as regards his dominion, he was told he is a blessing to this world and his brother will serve him, to the extent that when he observed he was not living in that pronouncement, he fought with the angel and told the angel, unless you bless me, I will not let you go. Genesis 32:26
The above two illustrations imply three things, that you cannot help God. As much as God is in you and you are in God, you have boundaries and limitations. Once you think God need to be helped, expect two things; a rude shock or destruction. If God said it, He will do it! He doesn’t need your input if he has not requested for it. Don’t give what you don’t have. It will land you where you don’t expect. Numbers 23:19-20
Secondly, whatever you love above God will eventually put you into trouble.
And lastly, when you are against God’s will, you are against God, no one working against God live to tell the story except you surrender, ask Pharaoh, Samson, Jezebel, Judas Iscariot…etc.
Don’t be caught in such web. Submit to God today.
Confession: I submit to God today. I submit to His ultimate will and plans for my life. I lay my will at your feet and pick your will for my life.
